Demo of a Surface Anatomy Video Clip Accessed Through the Web


    MACINTOSH INSTRUCTIONS
  • Step 1 - Ensure that you have the RealPlayer plug-in installed. If not, go to http://www.real.com to download the plug-in. Notice that both the free and full versions are available on this site. The minimum hardware requirement for acceptable performance is a 200-Mhz Macintosh or Windows system with at least 32 MB of RAM. Ensure that your Web browser is configured to accept cookies and that the brightness and contrast settings of your monitor are adjusted for optimal viewing.
  • Step 2 - Download a sample video clip by following these steps:

    • Hold your mouse button down over this link (a menu will apppear): the suprasternal notch
    • Choose Save this link as...
    • Save the file on your desktop. Be sure that the name of the file is suprasternal-notch.rm and that "Source," not "Text," is selected as the format.
    • Identify the volume name of your hard drive by clicking on the "Browse..." button below and choosing the demo file from your desktop. In linking to files on CD, this step would be unnecessary because the volume name of the CD would already be known.

  • Step 3 - In the example below, the user can view a still picture of the suprasternal notch by clicking on "Suprasternal Notch," review the gross anatomy of the specified structure by clicking on "review the anatomy," and finally view the video clip by following the "video clip" link.
     

    Suprasternal Notch: (review the anatomy) U-shaped notch, superior aspect of the manubrium. Attachment for sternal portion of SCM; makes up medial portion of the S-C joint. Don't push too deep upon finding it, or you will make your partner cough, choke, etc,...   (video clip)
