A Chaplain's Prayer for Staff, Patients, and Families -June 1996
  O God,
you have known us from the very beginning of our days and you have chosen to remain with us even
to this day.
Your have known every thought, feeling, word.
You have known every moment of our pain and joy...
Every circumstance that has been forced upon us
...every circumstance that we have fallen into.
You have journeyed with us especially during the difficult times
 When we were
Afraid,
Alone
Questioning.
It was during these times that you somehow came to us and added strength to strength and courage...
And we were able to mount up even as on wings of eagles.
From the very beginning of our days, Oh God, You have made the pilgrimage with us not only
in the difficult times but in the good times
 When
All was going well
Our family gathered for celebrations, singing, story telling.
we could look back over our lives and come to know for sure that the reason doors
opened and closed for us when they did, through good and evil, was somehow because
of your hand in our lives.
O God, because you have accompanied us through the difficult times and
the good times, and because your love for us does not waiver from beginning to end, we acknowledge that you are present with us in this time and in this place.
We ask that you will help those who care for us to use the talents, skills, and wisdom that you have helped them to acquire to bring strength and wholeness to us once again.
We ask, because you have gone before us, that you will make the way clear for us as we walk over new ground.
But above all else, 0 God, cause us to remember that no matter what, come what may, you walk with us every step and you will never let us go.
Send us your blessings, 0 God, and your healing grace. Amen.
